The power of positive thinking
If we look around us, there are a number of people getting depressed in their own reasons. Under this circumstance, there has been growing voice about positive thinking. Nowadays it’s common to see a person arguing the importance of positive thinking.
While it’s too common these days, the importance of thinking positively and staying upbeat can not be stressed, because being positive could be only key to our harsh life. Now that I want to ask reader a question “Are you an optimist or a pessimist?” An age-old way of finding out is to ask a common proverb: “Is the glass half-empty of half full?”
Conventional wisdom expects optimist to say, “Half-full,” and pessimists to say, “Half-empty.” Optimists tend to believe that people are inherently good, and will anticipate the best in any situation. Pessimists believe the opposite.
These days, many people are advocates of the power of positive thinking. They state that if you believe that things will work out for the best, it will happen. Thinking positively helps a person to have higher self-esteem. It also benefits people’s physical and mental health. Not only will thinking positively help you make the best out of your life, it can also help you have self-esteem and sound confident.
As a one of advocate of positive thinking, I have some experiences on positive thinking. When I was high school student, our class mates including me was not good at studying and the average score of Korean SAT was even lowest in the school. While every class mates were depressed with the result, my teacher was only one who stayed positive. After the test, he always tried to cheer us up, figuring out a best university to apply for. Teacher’s positive thinking encouraged us to think in the same way as him. Now can you imagine what happened next? Almost every class mates could get into the school they applied to. And successful university entrance rate was even higher than those of other classes!
Thinking positively holds us together and is a teacher to us at times and I believe that miracles of positive thinking are not a monopoly of certain person’s only. I want to finish this essay hoping every person reading my story to become a one of grate example on power of positive thinking.

The power of positive thinking
If we take a look around us, we can see there is growing number of people becoming depressed for various personal reasons. Due to this circumstance, people have begun to speak out more on the subject of positive thinking. These days it is not uncommon to find people arguing about the importance of positive thinking.
While the notion is growing more common these days, the importance of thinking positively and staying upbeat cannot be stressed enough, the reason being that maintaining a positive attitude could perhaps be the only key to overcoming our seemingly harsh life. Now with this in mind I would like to ask you the reader a question, “Are you an optimist or a pessimist?” An age-old way of finding out this is by asking one’s self this proverb: “Is the glass half-empty or half full?”
Conventional wisdom expects an optimist to say, “Half-full,” while a pessimist would answer, “Half-empty.” Optimists tend to believe that people are inherently good, and will anticipate the best in any given situation. Pessimists therefor believe the opposite to be true.
These days, many people are advocates of the power of positive thinking. They state that if you believe things will work out for the best, then it will happen. Thinking positively helps a person to have higher self-esteem. It also benefits a person’s physical and mental health. So not only will thinking positively help you make the best of your life, it can also help you to have higher self-esteem and sound more confident.
As an advocate for positive thinking, I have an experience in which I would like to share. When I was a high school student, my entire class was not good at studying and our score on the Korean SAT was the lowest in the school. While all of us were feeling depressed with our poor test results our teacher remained positive. After the test, he continuously tried cheering us up, and began figuring out the best university for each of us to apply to. Our teacher’s positive thinking encouraged all of us to think in the same way. So now can you imagine what happened next? Almost everyone in the class was able to get into the school in which they applied for. In fact, the rate of success for our class was higher than that of all the other classes in our school!
Thinking positively may bring us together and teach us during difficult times and this is why I believe that the miracles of positive thinking do not only belong to us as individuals. I would like to finish this essay with the hope that every person having read my story will have at least one great experience of their own through the power of positive thinking.
