Ear-splitting noise pierces through my ears every single morning and I get on the metro crowded with hurried people. There is not much space left to stretch my legs or arms. Even worse, I feel the warm breath stuck inside my mask. I could feel the tiny drops of sweats skating down my cheeks as I struggle to stay still from the fully packed metro. Then with hastened steps I climb up the stairs. I look up and the bright sunshine blinds me for a few seconds. I reach out my arm for the safety bar and keep climbing up. Then I approach the bright sun-reflecting building at the corner of the campus to attend my class. After all the classes, I repeat the steps above to get back to my house. This is what my life is all about lately. Occupied twenty-four hours day after day. And I need to escape.
At the end of the day, I close my eyes and let my imagination take me to where I need to be. And here I am in a plane with two huge carry-ons. One by one, passengers pop up in a sit like a hologram. It feels a bit artificial but I am not stressed nor in a hurry. That is what matters at the moment. I lift up my carry-ons and slide them into an overhead cabinet. Then I take a seat and fasten my seatbelt. As the plane takes off, I fall asleep.
“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Cancun International Airport.”
I hear the Captain’s speaking and open my eyes. I look out through the window. So far I can only see the evergreen dense forest next to the airport. Yet, as I drive to my hotel, Grand Oasis Cancun, I see a marvelous beach straighten without an end. Next to the beach, through a long coastal area, thousands of hotels are lining up as if they are waiting for something.
I spot my hotel easily and enter inside since it is the biggest one among the well-lined up members of a hotel battalion. A hotel manager greets me with a dignity and lead me to my penthouse I reserved. The door opens and so does a spectacular view through a huge balcony. I am done with remaining my best manner. As soon as the manager leaves, I run all around the room enjoying my freedom. I take out the ice-cold soda out of the fridge and drink it up. Then I go jump on my king sized bed. I lie down on my the couch and it feels better than any other bed I ever had. I am in a paradise.
